**This year’s show is inspired by a young girl, Sadako, the victim of Atomic Bom in Hiroshima, Japan on Aug. 6th, 1945. She was two years old when she was exposed to radiation from the nuclear fallout. 10 years later she developed Leukemia.
In Japan, it has been believed that folding 1,000 origami cranes would make you wish come true, so Sadako folded over 1,300 cranes from her medicine paper hoping that she would get well. Nevertheless, she passed away a few months after. Now her story has been told all over the world.
We are asking audience to fold one origami crane in order to create 1,000 cranes for World Peace / Sadako. Your crane will be personally delivered to Children’s Peace Monument in Hiroshima, Japan by 2 Japanese dancers after the show. Let’s join this World Peace movement on Sep. 30th Friday!!!
